So you already had a set.

Yeah.

And it was stuff like, it was during those days of like Comic View and Def Jam, but they wouldn't let me do it because I was so young.

They were like, we can't have him on set.

And even in the comedy clubs, they used to have to keep me in the kitchen.

And they called me the chicken finger comic because it was like...

They could only bring me out when I had to go straight from the kitchen to the stage and then right back out.

So it was a lot of rules during that time.

It was great to stand out and be the only kid, but it was a lot of opportunities I didn't get because I was a kid.

Coming up, who are like some of the top comedians, the top five comedians that you met and say, you know what?

I can, you know, I kind of like this style, but I'm on my own style.

But I kind of like the way he work a crowd or I like the way he tells a story or I like the way he does X, Y and Z. I mean, we all we we was all trying to imitate, you know, Eddie and Pryor.

You know, I mean, you know, I obviously got to meet them later on in life.

But the people that I that were my people.

peers that were around me that I really admired.

I mean, Chappelle was definitely one of those guys.

And just, I think he and I even kind of connected when I was young because he remembered being a young kid in the comedy club.

So he always had like, he'd be outside the improv smoking a cigarette or whatever and be like, man, let me tell you, like, you know, I just soak up the game at like 15.

And then the other person probably would be Jamie Foxx who kind of did the same thing for me as well.

So much so, man, he would look out for me because he knew I was from out of town.
