And that was when black entertainment was hot.

So everybody and they mama auditioned for that role to be the next young black star in a movie.

I mean, I still, I went in for like eight different times.

Wow.

You know what I mean?

And I've never really been an audition dude.

You know what I mean?

I could show and prove.

And as I got older, I understood the process a little bit more.

But I was just trying to go in there and win off a smile.

Or they see me doing stand-up.

But then once I realized, oh, I could really do this acting thing.

And being a musician, knowing how to play drums and all that stuff, it kind of gave me a leg up a little bit.

So you knew how to play the drums before?

Not core style.

You know, just a standard set.

also growing up in the South and understanding the marching band culture and everything, but it was more, I believe is like the, the, the chemistry and the performance.
