Well, I think that it's revealing about Obama.
Before you get into the weeds of the regulations that have been proposed, this is very revealing about him.
And I think that what it is suggesting is that he is a conservative in the most traditional sense of that word.
He's not likely and not inclined to upend existing institutions.
And like a non-activist judge, he's very deferential to tradition and to precedent.
We're seeing that in the health care reform movement.
