It is absolutely beyond belief.
You are messing with somebody's gear.
Telling Senegal, in the pouring conditions, you can only wear short studs.
You're messing with somebody's match gear.
And I don't think, while we are talking about a towel, I don't think it can or should be minimized for what it is.
And to Ali's point, and Jules' as well, we've never seen this before.
I think there will be legislation to address exactly that.
In one way or the other, there will be official FIFA regulations to address a situation such as this.
And now, similarly, as much as I make the case about sanctions against Morocco, there has to be sanctions against Senegal.
I have a feeling that those sanctions will be harshest on the Senegal coach, Thiao, because he's the one who called the players off the field, and less so on the Senegalese national team per se.
I am also mindful, and we spoke about this some time ago, with the Ronaldo red card and the suspended...
suspension that we felt at the time that FIFA were boxing themselves in, that if there was anything that kind of interfered with another player or another country's performance at the World Cup, they have to be a little bit lenient.
And now you have this situation, which far exceeds, granted, far exceeds what Cristiano Ronaldo did on an individual basis.
But all of a sudden, you've kind of boxed yourself into...
an air of leniency around it.
Now, I am completely sympathetic, and to Ali's point, I thought it was a penalty.
I thought it was a penalty on Ibrahim Diaz at the end.
The argument for me, which I side with Senegal on, is the goal that they scored moments earlier, which I thought was perfectly fine, disallowed for a foul.
