Well, they became high profile bloggers, rightly so.

And yours was one of those, and it was excellent.

And it was very much responsible for kind of you know lighting a bit of a spark with us, really.

Um, and as Andy said, you know, we became interested in these great teachers that you know we worked with.

Um, you know, we kind of knew that there was this education.

educational research out there, but there wasn't much talked about it at that time really.

Um, and then people like you started to write these fabulous blogs.

And you know, those two things started to kind of come together that

a the idea of great teaching and the educational research.

Um yeah, so we became very interested in that anyway, and started to write the book.

And then the idea of research schools came along.

And as I said, the idea of research schools was to help busy teachers and leaders to kind of use educational research more effectively.

So it kind of made sense for us to apply to be one, really.

at Huntington were one of the first.

I think to start off with there were four research schools and um that was a bit of a trial and they existed for about a year and then we applied and became a part of the next round and have kind of been one for them ever ever since really.

And uh it yeah, it's it's that

The kind of focus of research schools has changed a bit, but at at its height, it it is still that idea of helping helping teachers and leaders to understand, synthesize the research and

you know, use it to uh support their school improvement priorities.

Yeah, what it isn't about obviously is about teachers doing research because teachers are very busy um and they haven't got the time to do that and that that kind of idea of small scale research isn't isn't particularly useful anyway, I don't think.
