And like maybe has that um perspective taking ability to sort of shift and modulate her own behavior because she knows that it'll have an impact on you.
Yep.
My six year old is sweet and thoughtful and that sort of thing, but he doesn't have that ability right now.
He's still too young.
And then certainly my three year old does not care about what I need to do.
No, no, no.
He's very all about him.
And like so he should be friends.
Exactly.
It's developmentally normal.
And then if you have a neurodivergent child, we know that perspective taking is extra hard.
Yes.
And so I'm gonna have to spell that out for you.
I'm gonna spell out sort of what's going on here, you know, and tie it into their values.
Because again, with neurodivergent individuals, we often see maybe more of a um a dysregulated nervous system that can look as defiant.
Right.
Um, but really it's like the lack of understanding of other people's perspectives and some of that social language that could be at play there.
And so by uh thinking about it from their perspective and tying it into
their values, I think you'll see better success in your routine.
