Beliefs are more powerful than I think we give them credit for.
Yeah.
You're actually giving them a lot of credit.
There's lots of definitions of belief.
Mine is just a simple one.
It's the lens to which you view the world.

It was, I think it's the core of, it's the core predictor of what happens next in our lives.
That these beliefs don't just shape our experience of the present.
They predict what happens next, not only in someone's life long term, but also in the course of going through cancer treatment or trying to be a student, trying to find a job or trying to find love in this world.
Mine is that it's just a simple one.
It's the lens to which you view the world.
But that lens is something that's unique to us and human.
We have AI right now that can predict whether or not someone's going to, their likelihood of surviving cancer or their likelihood of finding a job.
We can predict the odds, but what AI can't do- Is believe.
It can't believe you will ever beat the odds.
It will never believe that you can beat the odds to be successful if you started at one socioeconomic place.
It can't believe you'll beat the odds and find a job or find love
or overcome cancer, that's uniquely human because that requires willpower and determination and hope in this quiet fire that says that I believe my behavior still matters.
