I don't know how they've survived where there's, you know, dead bat bat carcasses everywhere.

And the and the bats are great special effects.

The design on them are really cool.

We're gonna get to know Colonel Carlson.

He's the

Main character at least in part of the movie Our Hapless Astronaut.

So he leads his crew and they go into the giant, I mean, long phallic looking uh spacecraft that that Toby Hooper said he meant to emulate Dracula's castle in it, right?

So I never really thought that, but um it does make sense, you know, with the the and he wanted to make what um he referred to as a seventy millimeter hammer film.

So I think that it excuses a lot of the film's excesses when you approach it that way, that it is almost a big budget B movie that he's trying to make.

And it actually it does work on that level.

Yeah.

So this was part of the science fiction path of his um his canon there.

Oh, and I also want to mention that um the setup is very similar to Alien as well.

And that came from Dan O'Bannon, who wrote the script with uh Don Jacobee.

And they also work together on Invaders from Mars.

Very alien-like setup, like you know, we found this thing.
