He was involved with the Alston case, with the O'Bannon case.
So, I mean, the fact that he is involved makes you think that they feel like, you know what, maybe we can β
even if it's just on the technicality, find a way around this.
But, you know, for me, like, again, based on what we've heard, based on how definitive the data seems to be, I would be pretty surprised if he ends up playing college football this fall.
Yeah, so of course, this is the first year that there is no post-spring transfer window.
That's obviously a big deal for this program that they can't go out and get another Division I quarterback.
The Division II portal is still open technically through June 1st.
That is an option that's available to them, although it's obviously running out only about three weeks left.
But the other thing, too, is that they do have guys on campus that they feel all right about, right?
The big one is Will Hammond, who is a redshirt sophomore for them.
He was the one who came off the bench against Utah, played really well, helped lead them to a win.
And honestly, if he doesn't tear his ACL at the end of October β
I don't think that they spend $5 million on a quarterback.
I think that they may be bringing a guy to compete with him, but I think that Will Hammond very well might have been their guy.
The issue is he might not be ready for week one.
He might not come back until week three or four.
And, you know, so the question is, are you able to and willing to wait?
They also brought in a couple of other players.
They've got a quarterback in Lloyd Jones, who was a red shirting player last year for them who came off the bench.
They brought in a player, Kirk Francis, a former walk-on from Tulsa who started 10 games for them.
