The National Park Service says she was out on a climbing patrol when she fell into a crevasse.

Despite rescue efforts, Pendry died on Thursday afternoon.

The week prior, three other climbers died after a fall on another part of the mountain.

They were members of a Latvian mountaineering expedition traversing a route with several exposed sections.

Denali sees climber fatalities almost every few years, though park employee deaths are uncommon.
