As the day goes on, the mood does start to shift from hopeful to well, let's just get on with it.
There are a few moments of false hope.
One of the complicating factors here is that the fertile pollen was collected from plants 6 km away.
And it's not a quick and easy 6Ks to traverse.
The fear is the pollen might have degraded in some way during the transition, becoming less viable.
Sad.
The day has been long and hot and we haven't found any seeds.

That's good news for Angelina.
She rebags them so she can come back in about a month to see if they fruit and produce seed.
It's the final chance for this particular IVF attempt.
And a few weeks later, in the new year, I received this audiophile.

This particular plant didn't actually receive IVF.
It was a control, which means it was pollinated entirely naturally.
