And then as a founder, and because my money is still all at risk, um, there's certain things that I still absolutely have to me have come to me, even though I have a day to day president involved.
Anything that changes policy
um any default notice that we're issuing to a franchisee um and any change in agreement on a brand new franchisee which is, you know, almost unheard of, but on some of the master agreements we're doing outside the US
uh as we're kind of venturing out um into new territory, a little bit more modification might be necessary.
And so I kinda have the guardrails for when do I still need to make sure that even though I'm not running a lot of the day to day that the things that are critical that could impact the health of our business long term, I'm involved in those decisions.
So I think as a for me as a founder, understanding what things do I still want to stay involved in
and making sure that that's very clearly articulated and di and and documented.
And then for the things that I have transitioned authority, how am I going to be able to spot check and inspect that what my expectations are are being uh fulfilled.
Um, well I think you know, an organization is only as strong as its people and
you
need to recognize who your top performers are, both in attitude but in in terms of competencies that can be developed and make that investment.
I think it's hard to make that investment in every single employee.
So I think I'm realistic about really looking at kind of who are my top ten, which I talk about in the book.
You know, and we will move to who are the top twenty five and really looking at the top fifty percent of our organization, make sure they've got two year development plans where invest
I've got
twelve people in my company going through uh C F E uh certified franchise executive program through the IFA and that's not an inexpensive investment.
We bring ten to twelve people to uh to the um IFA convention every year just to expose our organization and and consider I only have sixty employees that you know uh you know twenty percent of my organization are coming to convention, that that's a pretty significant investment.
But I believe it's important to nurture them
And I believe that my my personnel that have the same passion for my franchisees' success, I can't train passion.
So if they have that innately that they would love to be an entrepreneur but didn't want to take the risk, but they love making it easier and enabling success for those that have jumped off the cliff.
