So I had this idea about wanting to make a difference and wanting to expand through franchising and set on my uh voice-verified

uh computer with a a hospital table in my bedroom and set about writing my operations manuals documenting everything that had made us successful in a company owned location to plan for after the the birth of our baby boys that we would give birth to a franchising brand to expand and help entrepreneurs become our franchisees and make a difference in their community with Brightstar Care. voice-verified

I mean I I I I'm I'm a C P A by background so I clearly love numbers but I'm also a big people person and so um having that connectivity to my staff. voice-verified

I mean my my staff are like my family and you know, we still have performance goals and things like that, but um not having that interaction was really tough for me. voice-verified

Um, put up with me and would come over to the house once a week to do staff meetings uh during the time that I had to be on bed rest. voice-verified

I I mean I think really being exposed to seeing how well um we actually went through um um training with choice hotels, um who Steve Steve Joyce is the CEO of, went through and was so impressed by how not coming from the hotel industry we could be fully trained to, you know, replicate a successful business model and voice-verified

I had always wanted, even in our original business plan, didn't know the distribution method, but always wanted to be able to d to deliver our healthcare services, you know, around the country and eventually around the world and make a difference in terms of the quality of care and franchising after exposure to it m made a lot of sense as voice-verified

as to an ability to keep control over the quality and um the branding and the customer experience, but um being very diligent on the selection of good people who were going to be in it for the right reasons, but also were committed to doing what it takes to grow a small business and get it to the point of being successful. voice-verified

I mean I I think for the first two to three years I just really became a student of franchising. voice-verified

I think I I quickly realized that I was while I'm in the business of healthcare, to be a great franchise or I had to not only be able to be great at healthcare, I had to be great at franchising and and and I had to know how to help voice-verified

franchisees be successful. voice-verified

And I had ran a h run a healthcare business for two and a half years at that point, but I hadn't run a franchise. voice-verified
