And he would take it on and think it was him.
Now, when I was a kid, I got the same look a lot, but never had the freedom to ask my mom or dad, did I do something wrong?
So you carry that stuff around with you.
And at a certain point, I think when you do get into therapy, you start understanding they do the best they can.
They were people, and that's where they got off.
My dad's always like, this world would be a great place if it wasn't for people.
And that kind of is the reality, is that we don't have a handbook for how to raise kids.
We do the best we can, and we hope that they don't lock into a moment, and that moment becomes the mythology of who they think they are in the universe.
But that's the reality.
That's what they do.
