That would obviously put it in close competition with Anthropic, which is also expected to potentially file this fall, as well as SpaceX, which is already out there with the S1 listing.

OpenAI was last valued at over $850 billion just earlier this spring.

hope that for these companies, at least they're thinking they want to go further north of that, getting us closer to potentially that trillion mark.
It's a good question because on the one hand, these companies like OpenAI and Anthropic can command these massive private financing rounds that we've never seen before on precedented levels of cash.
However, access to public markets allows them to do that with much more ease, frequency.
It also allows everyday people to get in on the AI boom or bust, which is a risk, right, if it does change.
But that also, you know, then potentially is allowing a larger group of sort of retail investors to have a stake in the company.
But really large pools of capital being more easy to access without all the funding around song and dance, I think, helps them.
Yeah, I think she was talking in the perspective of the internal revenue targets, which there were also in that report that OpenAI did not hit some internal revenue monthly goals early this year and some other revenue targets.

And what she said was that at the highest level, we feel like we're beating our plan, but how we often get there moves around from period to period because it's still a young business that's not perfectly forecastable across every metric.

So how I interpreted that and how she explained the stretch goals was an acknowledgement that internally they may have not met certain goals, but that overall she assured confidence in them meeting their revenue targets at a higher level is sort of the direction of how I interpreted her comments.
