I mean, it had been down in each of the last two starts.
And tonight we got to see the four seamers sit 91 and a half miles an hour, pretty early on, which is where it sat in game one of the year when he went five and a third with two earned runs by the end of the outing.
It actually still sat.
91 and a half miles an hour.
So that's definitely a huge positive.
Unfortunately, the Diamondbacks have more than a few guys who can hit quite well.
And those guys did come through in big spots.
Nolan Arenado, who I mentioned, I mean, he missed a spot to Arenado on the home run.
He's done that quite a few times in his career.
Also the guy in this diamondbacks team, I believe who has seen Lauer the most in his career.
So not great.
I mean the pitch to Carol for, I believe what was the two one RBI single.
I mean, it was a slider that was down in a way was still just in the zone.
So Carol going down to get it definitely within his, his wheelhouse for a hitter as talented as he is.
But again,
I suppose not a terrible pitch.
The fastball above the zone to Fernandez was also stung, but that pitch was basically chest high, and Fernandez went to go get it.
By and large, given what we had seen from Lauer in the last two weeks, I'll take it as a step up.
I do think that once the rotation is healthy, Lauer probably...
I'm curious what you guys think about this.
