But if you have a situation where you're blowing teams out, but then you're occasionally losing close games, you might say, you know what, this team is awesome.
It just hasn't gone our way.
Like, I think of the 2015 Blue Jays, for example.
They did not have a good record for much of the season, but everyone could tell, like,
That's a good ball club.
It's just kind of a matter of time, and they made the right additions, and everyone knows what happened next.
With this team, the additions is more just getting guys healthy.
And so part of, I think, what's interesting about that idea of just celebrate these wins, appreciate these outcomes, is that
the Blue Jays really feel like they're in treading water mode and keeping things stable mode because they don't really have their ball club right now.
And so in a sense, how they win at this moment maybe isn't as indicative of future results as it might be because what you really need to know is how good is this team when Springer is here, when Kirk is here, when Barge is here, when the rotation looks closer to what they want it to be.
That might have more to say about where this team is going than whether they can win these April games or how they win these April games online.
when they're using a bit of a skeleton crew.
And so in that sense, yeah, it kind of does matter just did they win or lose today?
Because this isn't really the 2026 Toronto Blue Jays.
It really felt at that moment like one of two things were going to happen.
Either, A, he was going to strike out.
He hasn't struck out a ton since he's been back in the Major League with the Blue Jays, but we all know that he's a big swinger, long swing that happens to him.
Or he was going to defend the plate so much that it was just going to get poked somewhere.
It felt like a bit of a lose-lose scenario.
And he has worked some at-bats.
