I think the definition of AI is so nebulous.
Like every single platform has an AI tool and the difference between gen AI for writing a script and generating a video is completely different than using it as a way to aggregate data, which you can then use to do your own research.
But people are mad because their trust has been quote unquote betrayed.
To Keisha's point, I think the idea here is that thought is being outsourced.
And I see that for myself.
I'm a writer for your newsletter, for our newsletter.
And I don't use AI, LLMs in my process because I feel that it is my job to...
succinctly synthesize the ideas that are floating around in the creator economy and provide a point of view to our readers.
So I don't want any part of that process outsourced.
Do I think that by him using a tool to find a source that he might not have been able to find elsewhere is necessarily outsourcing thought?
I don't think so.
But I also understand why someone would think that an inclusion of an LLM at any point in the process could be outsourcing your work to a machine instead of a human.
And I think that's where people are getting mad.
But...
Do I think that all the hate is warranted?
Absolutely not.
We ran a poll in the published press asking people when it's okay to, when creators should disclose that they've used AI in their process.

And super interesting because I don't personally believe that this situation would happen to every creator.
