Because this is when loved ones start to pull away.
This is when her parents sort of have to take over.
She has to use a walker.
She continues to suffer from pain.
She's starting to take more of like a cocktail of drugs to combat different side effects that are all sort of competing for her attention.
This is during the final season of Girls.
There's a lot of ER visits, which I was shocked to hear, which is, you know...
It's for emergencies, which she was having lots of emergencies.
It's also addict behavior.
I know a lot of addicts that would frequent the emergency room in order to get... And I'm not making any judgment calls.
But there's a portion of this book where I would imagine if I suffered from a chronic disease, my triggers would be supporting her.
As someone who has been at the other end of dealing with folks' drug addiction...
