So there's really serious implications for us as a democracy, too.

It's kind of a miracle that we even know that this landmark legal challenge is happening because Apple is committing a criminal offence if it even talks about the existence of this order from the British government to break into iCloud.
So it essentially means that the agencies would be able to process and access the data of tens of millions of people in this country through our phone data.
But it also actually has implications for everyone around the world that uses Apple's products.
So it has serious consequences for Apple as a whole business.
This is a queue outside a discount supermarket in Paris one morning in July.

They're not there for freshly baked bread.
