And as a people pleaser, you feel bad for saying no.
But if every single time someone asked you for money and you give it away, you're
you are just continuing a cycle where that person is going to rely on you.
Not always.
Sometimes it is truly just a one-off and it never happens again.
But you will continue to be seen as that like really friendly or really helpful person.
And when word gets out across your friends and family that like, hey, Sim is like...
a giver like she suddenly becomes a like mini bank or like a mini lending like machine and the truth is it's not healthy for you it's not healthy for them and as a people pleaser you might feel like you don't want to do it but you do it out of people pleasing but that is not a nice way to live your life and if anything resentment will build I have seen it amongst friends where one friend gives the other friend some money
The friend that takes the money then like takes ages to pay first friend back.
And then she's out like living her best life on Instagram.
And the first friend is like, how did she buy those new shoes?
Like she still owes me $800.
And I'm just sitting there and I'm like, well, you shouldn't have given it to her in the first place, but I digress.
And so it is so important to not let people pleasing tendencies impact the way that you deal with your friends and family.
But there is still one more way where people pleasing comes in, in the friends and family dynamic.
And this isn't as common, but it's probably the most scariest where people
engage in people pleasing because they are scared to say no to a financial advisor or a bank manager or a partner when they are looking at things like buying a home or investing a lot of money or getting like an insurance policy.
Sometimes we meet financial professionals and they will recommend
their products and services.
And even though they have most of the time our best interest at heart, they also have their own incentives at heart.
