This is an important value within the Olympics and the Olympic movement.
So it's important that the Winter Olympics represents that.
In 2018, we did have
continental representation, which created a pathway for myself and other athletes to be able to represent our countries and represent Africa in the Olympic Games.
But there was such resistance from the international sliding community because people felt that we didn't earn this.
And they felt like it was a pathway that was somehow taking away from other athletes who have been in the sport.
and been training all their lives for this and were perhaps better from a competition level standpoint.
But that's not what the Olympics is about.
Yes, you want the best of the best, but it's really about nations being able to be represented.
And again, these are systemic things that I would ask that the IOC, the International Federations, really take a look at because these are things that are going to help with future generations
to be able to see more of us from the continent of Africa represented in 2030 and 2034 and going forward for the future.
So the more resources and structure we can build in, I have no doubt that we will see an African medal at the Olympic Games within the next, who knows, decade or more.

So we just need the opportunity.
That's what, you know, at the end of the day, that's the starting point.
If you don't have opportunity and access, then you can't even, you know, you don't have a chance.
maybe i was a bit aggressive with that um but you know i like to dream big but it is possible with the right talent with the right support and with the right resources a medal is possible so 10 years hmm if if we're really all clicking on all cylinders and we get an influx of funding who knows but um yeah i think maybe the next 25 years might be a little bit more feasible
