There's another one you may have come across, which is Trump accounts.
Now, Trump accounts are like, if you haven't, for listeners who haven't come across these, they're like the Child Trust Fund.
Um they are a junior ICER if for UK-based listeners.
Um
Savings accounts where you get tax relief to put money aside for your children.
Um turns out in the small print uh you can
uh the only assets that are eligible are UK U sorry, US listed securities.
So you can have an S and P tracker or a Nasdaq or a Russell two thousand uh tracker, but you can't have a
Nikkei tracker or a FTSE tracker or a Stock Six Hundred tracker.
Um uh f fascinating there, the degree to which
the US government is using
Um its legislation.
i across quite a broad spectrum to force capital into its domestic market, in that case equity markets, but in this case with stablecoin legislation, uh debt capital markets.
And I think we all see other jurisdictions take that legislation uh and the spirit of that legislation and yes, apply it to their own jurisdiction to underscore demand.
Yeah, I think we may be heading in that direction.
I think I think regulators would be reluctant to do that as always with uh things that um could be criticized as being quite financially repressive.
Um but I do think um uh when push comes to shove, and it very much is that right now, um you
uh un you know, providing stable financing conditions for your
public sector and your private sector is one of those key um functions of government, central banks and regulators.
The weekend edition.
