I think Trump definitely was not having any of this woke nonsense as he would describe it and he was encouraging US companies to the hatred of windmills, as he calls winds.

He wanted to say Drillbo Jill, you know, put you know, put your foot to the floor when it comes to oil and gas production.

And and by the way, you know, the US moved during that period into the world's biggest oil and gas producer and um is is desperately

Exporting gas to the the entire world right now, so you know um you can make of that what you will.

So there was a bit of that, and then there was a bit of, I think, disillusionment by investors who basically said, I know we said we signed up and we wanted all this, but actually we didn't realise it would be that much less profitable than what you were already doing.

And on reflection, can you just go a bit

So, yeah.

Well I remember doing an interview with Ben Van Burden, the boss of Shell, and this is about ten years ago, from the roof of one of their refineries in Pernis in in Rotterdam.

And he said, Listen, we'll build a blue hydrogen plant up there, we'll do this and we'll do that.

But be under no illusion, this is being paid for by our oil and gas profits.

So this is you know, this one day this may be a great business, but at the moment it's cost and it's a cost that comes out

And if there are businesses out there that want to do that, they should do that because they probably be better at it than we are.

So I think you add all of those things together.

Plus just the the appetite I think for you know, because this transition, as we're finding out with renewable energy, some of the bills that people get, you know, for their energy bills here in the UK, quite a lot of that bill is costs related.

to the move to green and renewable energy.

So everyone wants green, resilient, clean and cheap energy, but getting from A to B is not cost free.
