And it crops up in an episode called Treehouse of Horror 6.
Euler's identity, arguably the most beautiful equation in all of mathematics, crops up in an episode called Money Bart.
In Futurama, we have Klein bottles, we have Möbius strips, we have the Aleph-Null cinema.
Aleph-Null is a scale of infinity, which suggests there are even bigger scales of infinity.
So all of this stuff is kind of just smuggled into the background of these two shows.
I find more or less hysterical.
You often make me titter as I listen to you.
But there is an animated show, I think SpongeBob SquarePants.
Does SpongeBob live in a pineapple at the bottom of the sea?
Something like that.
And pineapples have Fibonacci numbers embedded in their pattern.
They have eight spirals going in one direction and 13 spirals going in the other direction.
Eight and 13 are Fibonacci numbers.
But SpongeBob's pineapple does not have 8 and 13, so it doesn't obey that mathematical principle.
It's just an innumerate cartoon show with impossible pineapple.
Yeah, we shouldn't expect all cartoons to have difficult maths embedded in them, but they should at least get the natural mathematics correct within them.
