This is a guy who a year and a half ago was playing in the North American Hockey League.
He didn't even make the USHL.
Then Sault Ste.
Marie brought him up in January 2025.
And man, was he good.
And this year, he was a point-per-game player.
I think with him, his defensive game needs to be improved, honestly.
But his skating, his puck handling, potential to be a PP1 guy, you know, power play guy, makes him the right choice.
However...
You know, it's being debated right now if San Jose should go with him at number two because they already have all these, you know, top offensive players.
But I think the fact that they traded Eklund yesterday showed that they're going to go for Stenberg.
And the reason why I think they're going to go for Stenberg is because I see Stenberg as a sure thing to be a great first liner.
Chase Reed.
He's not Makar Hughes.
He's not right up there right now as a surefire Makar Hughes clone, if you see my point.
So at number three, I think it's reasonable.

I had Stenberg for quite a while at number one.
I think the only reason why I have Gavin McKenna at number one, and I might really regret making this call, although it's not a big deal.
