I think it's the detail on like the understanding of why people make this choice.

Like I found it very frustrating over the last couple of weeks because like I'm a proponent of like the public system in everything should work as well as like you shouldn't be able to just throw money at it and get a better deal.

but I'm like that's what happens that is the modus operandi for Ireland like that is what happens like why are we having this public debate about like of course it's going to be women's maternity care that gets this public debate like lots of the private hospitals exist co-located with public hospitals and I don't know if those private hospitals would be able to stand alone maybe they would but like

there's probably a reason they're coexisting.

Like, so why is it this that we're so angry and hotheaded about?

Whereas it just feels like it's another thing to kind of berate women for.

Like, you shouldn't choose private if you believe in public service or you shouldn't.

I don't know.

It's just I think it's just part of the complication of like I found it interesting when Jennifer Carol McNeil said that no insurance

So the reason that we don't have private hospitals for maternity care is because the indemnity is too much.

The state has to indemnify consultants working in maternity care.

So this is really an insurance problem.

Right.

You know, so.

Yeah, and Jennifer Carl McNeill did say that.

She did say that it happens in cancer, it happens in other things, so it should be able to happen in maternity services.

And I think she genuinely does believe if we get private care out, then that, you know, frees up consultants so much.

But we know that the numbers in the rotunda were really low.

And we just don't have detail that that's what they're promising women.

And like a lot of women, especially if they've had losses, you know, it's from the very get-go that they want it.
