But if it is to go ahead, they want to be able to protest it.
And so behind closed doors, there'll be no way of protesting it.
Now, obviously, they come up with different ways, but there'll be no way to protest it on the actual day.
So it's like the least satisfactory ending if this is the eventual outcome.
It is happening and like you also kind of can't pretend that football is...
more important than everything else but the fai did you know had said it was in contact with the palestinian football association the palestinian football association like you know did put out a statement as well saying like it appreciated the principal positions taken by the fai because obviously we did put in a motion about sanctioning ua for sanctioning the israel fa and kicking them out of competition for
like violating, I think this is probably some of the nuance that is lost in the mainstream media when we say it's like because of the genocide.
It is because of the genocide, but it's also like the request that the FAI motion and the Palestinian FA motion put in to UEFA was that the Israel FA is breaking its own rules.
It's breaking its own constitution.
So this isn't like,
you know, football trying to be bigger than football or football trying to, you know, bring international or state politics into it.
It's like, well, actually, the Israel FAA is just breaking the constitution that they say they will uphold as being members of UEFA.
And like, you know, the FIFA disciplinary committee upheld like some of the findings against the Israel FAA, like that around racism or discrimination or in segregation around what they're doing in the West Bank, you know, not letting Palestinian footballers
engage in football um so i think some of that is lost like yes there's the bigger genocidal picture but there's also like you're breaking they're breaking their own rules and are allowed get away with it and that's what the fai motion that's what uh the palestinian football association kind of smartly on a in a legal sense of the of how to do it did um but still didn't get anywhere so that's that's kind of why we're in this situation is that
they are breaking rules, this shouldn't be the situation that Irish footballers are in.
It is, and now we're trying to forge a solution, which is to play behind closed doors in a country that's not Ireland.
Yeah, so there are no private maternity hospitals in Ireland.
So anyone who goes private, as we say, when they're having a baby, it means that they are paying a private consultant to lead their care.
And that for the last few years has always happened in a public setting.
But in the other hospitals, there's more of a distinction between where it happens.
