What is really interesting is, you know, Simon Harris's saving scheme, right?

I thought that it had been implemented given the media attention that it had gotten.

But that was just the announcement of something that they were going to do.

And so this is a really good example of where you will see in Ireland the big flashy announcement of we're going to have a savings scheme, which, by the way, oh, my God, how the hell do we not already have this?

That is another question for another day.

But okay, so Simon announces the big saving scheme, but talks about it endlessly.

And it's about something that doesn't yet exist.

And then there's reports, you know, six months later of, well, it might not actually be the thing that it was originally going to be because it's harder to do that.

We're going to water it down a little bit.

And if you just talk about something for long enough, politically, you get the credit for the thing that never happened because people forget that it never happened.

And there are, there's a graveyard of,

These flashy brochures that went and died, but that people collected votes on because this is all we do.

We make a splash.

We talk about all these great things we're going to do.

And then they quietly disappear when an NGO takes over or it's kind of some third party and some consultant is going to do it and then it goes away.

Yeah, again, it's a simple one.

Ireland's economy is predicated on the idea overwhelmingly that money passes through us, that we are a kind of collect $200 as you pass go, that we never built this indigenous economy.
