My next memory is being up in the paediatric intensive care ward.
So I don't know whether that... I don't know how I got there.
But long story short, we spent... They managed to keep him alive.
And he was in intensive care.
And they kind of said if he makes 12 hours, and if he makes 24, and if he makes 36, and we're looking for signs, and if he makes this.
And he did make all these milestones.
But it was three days of...
sheer panic, sheer and utter panic.
Like, the only way to describe it is like an absolute bomb went off.
And everything, everything around me, all the structures, like everything, nothing existed.
Everything just fell away.
Everything...
Just, it was horror.
It was, like, I felt like I was dropped into a war zone and people were shooting.
These snipers that I couldn't find were, like, shooting at me but not only that, shooting at my baby and I couldn't protect him.
I could do nothing but just sit there and wait for the next...
like the next bad news and I hated these angels that are nurses who work in in the PICU like they are angels but I hated them because I knew whatever they were going to tell me was going to be bad and every doctor that came in I was just like don't talk to me don't like I'm barely staying in my body here and I knew everyone was dangerous everyone was a threat even though they were there helping me they were the threat was they were coming to tell me he was going to die
and I couldn't cope with it and actually the nurse who was the most honest with me is the one that I could not cope with and now I look back and go she was brave enough to be very honest with me because I kept asking her the questions but I didn't want the answers it's such a hard job
