But the point is that he just believed in his ability.
You know, you didn't see him training a lot and so on and so forth.
But you have a net and bowling the nets.

Not as often, but the left arm stuff he would do, you know, he'd bowl that.
The wrist spin, he bowled a lot in the West Indies in dryland cricket.
He didn't do a lot of that in the Test matches, because he wasn't going to give away a lot of...
Easy runs or whatever, but I don't know if we'll ever see another cricketer like him.
He played football, he did well.
Table tennis, he did well.
He was just a genius.
And you sort of judge your greatness from cigar for yourself.
He would tell you like it is and hope that you'd just follow through and do exactly as he told you.
Yes, well, we thought that this guy, he encouraged a lot of young cricketers, the Brian Lowrers and so on.
And everybody wanted to bat like him, you know.
They wanted to bowl like him.
They wanted to be Gary Showers, you know.
