This was my first ever mood board, I think.

I had pictures on the wall, which I cut out of magazines.

And there were pictures of the Jackson 5 and Stevie Wonder and Miles Davis and Elvis.

I loved Elvis.

And all the Marvel Comics people.

And you'd spit on it and you'd put it on the wall.

And I put Iron Man on the wall and Spider-Man.

So I was building this frame of reference for myself.

And I knew that one day,

This would figure in my life.

I didn't know how.

I think there's a picture of Tommy Cooper there like that as well.

But I knew it figured in my life somewhere.

And I wanted a reminder every day.

So this is back to the finger pointing at you age six.

And my mom never took the pictures down.

She left them where they were because she knew there was something going on.

She didn't quite know what it was, but she knew there was something going on in that kid's bedroom and she was going to leave it alone.

That's what you knew.

And I didn't know why the hand was white.
