No, no, well, he did, yeah, but I'd seen him around, and this is what happened.
My mum said, you need to meet your Uncle Bertie.
Go down the road and do some chores, and he will give you pocket money.
And I'd never met this guy before.
I didn't really know who he was.
So I said, pfft.
I walk all the way down Constitution Hill, see this bloke, you know, Uncle Bert.
He was that.
I didn't really know who he was.
I was 11 or something.
And I met him.
Good evening.
And I went in and he had the hat on.
And he was making me, you know, clean up the house and I'll cook.
He made chicken and rice.
And it was great.
And so I started to see him every Friday.
And I'd do chores, like Cinderella, I'd hoover, and I'd clean the windows and make the bed and everything.
And he would give me two and six, which was a Cadbury's chocolate bar and a can of Coke.
And that went on for a bit.
