Yeah, I think I made a par.

It's caught light, you know.

So...

I honestly don't remember much of the Open.

It's been fun remembering the story.

I only turned pro in April, April 14th, 76.

So we had to then ask the PGA, good old British PGA, for permission to turn professional.

So they rubber stamped me somewhere in a May meeting and I played my first tournament

the French Open in June.

So I bet I've only played two others.

I came, I qualified, I led the qualifying at West Lanx.

I did the good old Monday qualifying, like, well, back in the day, it was Sunday, Monday, wasn't it?

Back in the day.

And then came here and played my first, played my first Open.

I did all right, made the cut, finished 30-ish or something, I don't know, and kind of thought, I think I announced to the world, oh, it was all right, it was average performance, sort of thing.

So, and, but,

and the only thing i really remember was it was an absolute dust bowl i remember coming home and you know take your trousers and your sand the black sand was up to your kneecaps because it was absolutely burnt dry you know i was going to say you were 17 it was a couple of weeks before your 18th birthday were you conscious of the other teenager making his open yeah because everyone knew him after he was yeah after 54 holes steve balestros

So, yeah, because it was Seve.

Well, Seve was the introduction to the world, wasn't it?
