Wenn ich über meine Heimat spreche, denke ich an den Berg Sarmatiaq, den man im Hintergrund sehen kann und wie er jeden Tag eine andere Farbe hat, weil es so viel Struktur in der Atmosphäre gibt zwischen dem Ort, wo man in der Stadt ist und der Sicht auf den Berg, der einige Kilometer entfernt ist. Mein Lieblingsplatz ist wahrscheinlich Mygdalen in Nuuk.
Es ist ein dänischer Begriff und wir nennen es das. Es wird im Alltag von Moskäden bezeichnet. Es ist ein sehr schönes Gebäude.
Es ist ein schönes Gebäude, weil es voller von diesen schwarzen Häusern ist. Und wenn man dann auf einem Berg aufsteht, hat man die Aussicht nach Norrland. Also eine sehr charakteristische östliche Aussicht, wo Hensel 300 Jahre hervorragend kam. Und wenn man dann auf dem Berg aufsteht, kann man eine Aussicht nach Selmitser, diesem wunderschönen Berg, bekommen.
But apart from that, there are so many beautiful places. Karotok is worth a huge mention. And just like the south of Greenland, Ialiku is beautiful. If you go to Ilulissat, the sounds of the ice from the ice fjord is just amazing. An amazing experience on its own. And then I was lucky to go to Qanaq, the town that was forcibly moved from where to the air base is. And then Qanaq.
And you know what's interesting about Qanaq? It's that nowhere in Greenland are the houses lined the way that you do it in the US, where the streets are completely linear. Everything's a square, right? But in Qanaq it is. But if you walk on top of a hill in Ghana, you get to see some of the oldest mountains on the entire planet. And everything is just ice.
And it's so beautiful and it's so haunting. And when I went there, which is almost 20 years ago, which also ages me, I guess... We couldn't get in or out, like there's one flight a week, that's it. So we came on a Wednesday and we left the following Wednesday. Wow. It was amazing and there is not a lot of internet and it's just really, really good for the soul.

So there is a huge difference between, like Nuuk is very windy, but the temperatures are quite stable. So they don't go that high or that low.
If you go into the bottom of Nuukfjord, you can, on a summer day, it will be 15 to maybe even 19 degrees and you'll wear shorts and a t-shirt.

When I think of Trump, I think of someone who's ready to burn all their bridges in order to succeed and in order to get his way. And in Greenland we're We just think really differently. We always consider our community before we make choices on behalf of our people. I mean, it's just... And you would think that I'm aware that former presidents of the United States have been more mindful. But...
Aber es ist eine andere Kultur. Und ich denke, dass Trump nur die extremste Version der grundlegenden amerikanischen Werte ist, die Extremisten, wie er, möglicherweise existieren. Das klingt wirklich furchtbar. Es gibt viele Leute, die ich in den USA interessiere und die mit Trump nicht einverstanden sind.
Und es gibt auch Leute, die ich interessiere, die mit dem, was Trump sagt, am meisten einverstanden sind. Aber Griechenland ist Griechenland. Und du kannst für dein Land jemanden wählen, den du willst. Politisch, demokratisch, gesellschaftlich, wir wählen etwas anderes. Und ich hoffe wirklich, dass die Botschaft durchgeht, dass wir unsere eigenen Leute sind.
Und wir wollen nichts mit Trump zu tun haben. Offen für Business, nicht für Verkauf.
