So I have a story to tell you, and it's a good one because it changed my life.
When I was very young, I was in my 20s, I was doing readings, this person came to me, and I swear, it wasn't a human.
And he said to me, I do performance art.
Would you come to my theater?
I don't ever go to my clients' theaters.
I don't want to be in their thing.
But I said, I will.
It wasn't even a real theater.
It was a garage.
And I thought, well, that is—I was interested.
I thought, well, good for him.
He's not dependent on someone creating a theater or inviting him.
He took this garage.
He blackened it out.
He had three little risers, eight little chairs.
I walked in.
I was with my then-husband at the time.
I walked in.
