If you have a team with 24 teams in it.
you're going to have a bunch of guys playing for nothing.
Logic would suggest, do you need 24 teams in the championship?
That would be the easiest way to generate more interest and solve this.
But of course, they don't like doing that.
I don't know.
There's another factor too.
What if you're fourth at the table and with six games to go, you've got no chance of finishing top two, but equally,
you're pretty much assured that you're finishing in the top eight.
So what's to stop you then from tanking the rest of the season?
That's why the Premier League is against it.
The other factor too, if you're the team that's third and fourth,
then you got to wait around for these other games to be played.
And again, that's not good.
You need competitive football to stay sharp and whatever.
But the argument is there's so many North American owners.
They like the playoffs.
They like the excitement.
Like I said, you want to bring more excitement, reduce the number of teams.
But of course, you're not going to do that because you want your 23 home games every year to make your money.
