It is unbelievable that each series now, all four series, Halliburton has hit a shot in the last 1.3 seconds left in either the fourth quarter overtime to either tie it or win it. I'm glad he didn't do the choke thing like he happens to do. This is game one of the NBA Finals. Let's wait before the choke. haliburton season he's like okay i'm rising and i'm hitting this shot so i think there's a miscommunication there from this perspective because case and wallace again he was tracking him the entire way he was in haliburton's shorts until that spot where caruso looks like it's your job now but caruso goes to box out and there's that extra little bit of space for haliburton to rise and hit the shot what a freaking shot
it is unbelievable uh how they got there in the end because as you said it's it's 15 points with nine minutes left andrew nemhart was a hero in this game because even if you look at the stat line a hero has four of 11 14 points but he was when it came down to it 15 point 15 points down nine and a half minutes left in that fourth quarter he started it up he went at alex caruso caruso basically like hugs him but somehow nemhart is able to finish through that was awesome
And get that bucket. And then he had big assists after big assists to go on a 12-2 run to bring the Pacers back in this game. Four threes by their bigs. Two from Miles Turner, two from Obi Toppin. And Nembhard had three big assists to get them closer to the end there, even though one of those Miles Turner threes was a bank job. That was nuts. A bank job from the side.
He's sort of free throw line extended and shoots that ball. How does that bank in? And then Nembhard with two minutes left hits that three over Shea.
He was in his bag. Yeah, just through his legs, through his legs, through his legs, and hits that shot over Shea to get them closer. And then... We got Dagnott deciding to go extremely small the last three minutes and 24 seconds. They don't have a center out there. They pull out Chet Holmgren, and we can debate whether or not it was a smart move.
Lou Dort had a monstrous block with a minute plus left, so he was playing center. I had my girls watching that Lou Dort block over and over and over again because Lou Dort just goes straight up. This monstrous man straight up and is able to just hang out there, hang in the air. hang in the air, hang in the air, and then blocked the shot. That was beautiful stuff.
How did these guys come back? I will say, though, Shade did have a bad minute 10 play. At the end of the game. His last minute 10 was bad. They're up three. He goes in. Pascal Siakam acting as center blocks the shot. And then they go down the other way. Again, Pacers are down three points. Andrew Nembhard tries to hit another shot. He misses. Shea is guarding Pascal Siakam.
And Pascal Siakam says, all right, I'm going in for the offensive rebound. I'm the biggest guy on the floor, essentially. And Shea just looks kind of gassed as Pascal Siakam comes from the corner. And Shea just kind of throws his hands at him, doesn't box him out. And Pascal gets in there for the offensive rebound. So now it's a one point game.
That's how you get it.
Yeah, no, it's hard to say Shea had a bad last minute in 10 because he had an awesome game and he just scored before that. But then here he goes the other way, gets blocked by Pascal. And then... we're up one here. What am I going to do? He kind of just has a one pass possession where he kind of just dribbles, dribbles, dribbles. Nembhard cuts him off. So seven seconds left.
He says, all right, Jalen Williams, you do it. Jalen Williams misses. Luckily, OKC is able to get the ball back because of that challenge that Rick Carlisle had. Hey, I think Pascal Siakam was pushed by Cason Wallace. They give the thunder of the ball and then Shea is stopped by Andrew Nembhard. Cue Halliburton to come the other way after that miss. Yeah, you're right. How many times do you think, okay, so he's taking this thing. Okay, so he's taking this thing. Jalen Williams is yelling. He's screaming with 930 left as they go to the timeout. And then Andrew Nembhard, again, started it. He started it. But all his guys, Toppin, Miles Turner, also from the mid-range, those guys just come through in the fourth quarter.
You're right, Matherin played a part, there's no doubt. It is amazing that every single guy on this Pacers team comes through. He even did a decent job on Shea when he was guarding him, like he did on Jalen Brunson in the last series. Brett Matherin, of all people, slowing people down.
