It isn't. Why? Right to start the game. It isn't surprising that Cason Wallace played 33 minutes and Hartenstein played 17 minutes, but you'd flip that and Hartenstein would start and play 17 minutes. Yes, it was surprising for sure.
It didn't seem like there was any truth to it. The Thunder were playing great.
Yeah, the Thunder were responding well. Although I think Richard Jefferson's argument here would make a lot more sense in game two.
That's the weird part. Yeah, I don't know if they go back to the Hartenstein because he was so good. As you said, the points at setting picks. He's such a good screen flipper. First he's an Isaiah Hartenstein, then he's Isaiah Hartenstein. He just flips. So I associate that with his name because I think he says Isaiah Hartenstein.
And we've had this debate. Depends the day. Trey should ask him because Hartenstein came up to Trey, if you didn't hear our last show, and said, well, I used to watch you guys when I was young. And he put his hand to the floor like he's like.
Yeah, exactly. Now I'm a Hartenstein. But he was awesome. He was so good. Yeah. And there's lots of stats that don't show up in the box score, but Andrew Nembhard airballed a three because Hartenstein was all up in his face, getting out there to three-pointers. Now...
I think part of that is because he was that sort of in a way it was good because he had all that energy not having to start the game. And I think he why he was able to contest shots like that, why he was able to blow by Thomas Bryant was because he came off the bench and was that spark. So I guess they stick with Case and Wallace.
Because if there's any team to go small against, it is this Pacers team that isn't huge.
So it wouldn't be surprising if they go either way. I guess it is the mental win for the Pacers if they do flip it again, I suppose.
And they reacted extremely well to losing that game one against the Denver Nuggets and bombed them by 43 in game two. But they didn't have to change their lineup at all, right? They just rolled that same lineup again. So you could see them rolling again with that same lineup.
It sure feels that way.
Yeah, and it happened during the regular season too. The stat going around that he was 12 of 14 on shots to tie or go ahead the final two minutes. How is that possible? I know, I know. It doesn't make sense.
I want a little bit of an AI re-edit of having Cason Wallace All up in his face rather than take a step back to give him a little space before that shot. I would like to see. Obviously, it's all fake, so we won't be able to relive the actual moment that the ball is released from Tyrese Halliburton's hands. But Cason Wallace unfortunately gave him that tiny bit of space.
Whether or not it was a defensive... Flub with him and Caruso. He probably thought Caruso, the bigger guy, would be there to contest the shot. I wish we were in the locker room to find out what that mistake was because I don't know if he makes the shot.
I'm tipping my cap, but if I'm playing defense and I'm able to guard him from the moment he has the ball all the way to the three-point line, if I'm able to stick with him and then I just kind of take a little step back and give him space, he would never give him space. Casey Wallace would never give him space.
He is unbelievable.
Yeah, and the benefit is Halliburton being the sort of pure point guard type of player where he doesn't have to shoot every possession. He doesn't need 25 to 30 shots per game. The guy had a 14-point game and he had a game winner, and he's the hero because these are the Pacers, man. He doesn't shoot all the time. So it is fun.
It is fun, and that's the reason why I feel like he had every little ounce of energy Shea didn't on the other side. I mean, Shea had to be sort of a hero the entire game and he had monstrous help at handling the ball.
Well, maybe they had a make-up call because I think what I was referring to actually was when it was like 23 seconds left when the ball went out of bounds.
