Well, it was a different situation then.

The NRL team, the first grade team would only name 15 players, fresh.

You could only name 15 players and the reserve grade would always play before the NRL team.

So if we were playing the Broncos, the reserve grade would always play before them, every team.

you had to play 40 minutes, at least 40 minutes of the reserve grade game, and then you were eligible to go sit on the bench for the NRL team.

So they'd have their two fresh reserves, and then they could call up eight players from the reserve grade and go sit on the bench.

So I sat on the bench, apart from the very first game against the Broncos,
