I think it shows that you are respectful of the parent teacher.

And therefore you're showing from the start you are willing to work with them and be respectful.

This is related to anything in life, but a piece of advice one of my cousins gave me when I was in college is never respond when you're mad.

And unless it really is so important, if there's a big issue, just wait the 24 hours.

You'll probably cool down and you will preserve that relationship with whoever it is you're communicating with, but in this case the teacher.

It's really hard when you're at that combative stage.
