This was a big moment for uh our new Fed chair Kevin Warsh, who I think is just at his hundred day mark in his new job.
And this is Jackson Hall's always kind of a big deal to cause the US chair of the Federal Reserve speaks every year.
And it's always kind of a big deal because it's like the one speech where to steal your words, people are sort of feeling their feelings, right?
It's not the there's no news event, there's no interest rate hike happening.
It's the chair's chance to kind of get real.
Well yes, and I I would argue that this year was sort of especially splashy.
relatively speaking, of course, in our world, very splashy.
But because people don't really know who Kevin Walsh is, for decades the Federal Reserve has tr has practiced kind of uh a lot of transparency, a lot of forward guidance, a lot of this is what I'm thinking and why.
And Kevin Warsh has gone really very much in another direction.
So everyone I feel like is kind of trying to get a sense of the metal of the man.
adding to that that he was nominated by President Trump at a time when Trump was openly attacking Federal Reserve independence.
So I think people are just very worried about how he's going to handle what's very likely to be a lot of pressure coming from the White House.
