So I talked with this diamond analyst.
His name is Idan Golan.
Um he is in Israel.
He's been tracking the diamond markets forever.
And uh he this is what he told me about this moment.
So
I thought this was fascinating.
And
One of the things he said was, you know, this has happened over and over again in history.
Like salt used to be one of the most precious substances on earth.
There was a moment when pepper, black pepper, was more expensive than gold.
Paper, silk, saffron, uh, things that we can like go to the local CBS and buy have gone from incredibly precious things to something you can buy at Walmart.
For ten bucks.
And I wanted to ask you about this because this apparently this is one of the oldest questions in economics.
This is where I got so excited and I was like, I gotta talk to Justin about this because Adam Smith brought this up in his seminal economics worth, The Wealth of Nations.
And it was called the Diamond Water Paradox.
Yeah.
And he basically said, Why do humans value diamonds more than water?
