Yeah, well, I thought it was interesting because I feel like politicians always want lower interest rates.

And they want lower interest rates just like you said, because it gooses the economy.

It means that people borrow more and they spend more and businesses expand and hire.

And all of those things are things we want, right?

We all want that.

None of us wants high interest rates.

High interest rates are really hard on the economy.

They're painful.

Now the alternative, as Justin just explained, as you just explained, Justin, is inflation goes up.

And that tends to happen a little more gradually, a little more slowly.

And the pain of that, I think, can be harder to understand quickly, which is why politicians tend to favor, I think.

lowering interest rates because inflation doesn't show up later.

And if you're trying to get reelected, you want to like juice the economy now.

Um, but higher prices are really insidious.

So um, yes, for for business week and for uh everybody's business, I've talked to a lot of people

about affordability and just generally kind of what it's like.

And I'll just give you a few numbers and then I'll play a little uh clip of some people that I've spoken with in New York.

But since the pandemic began, between supply chain issues and

Tariffs and oil prices and all of it.

Uh groceries are up thirty two percent.
