So now we're seeing prices rising faster than wages on average.
So there is the outpacing.
The other thing that I think happens, and this I think might be part of why consumer sentiment is so low, which is something you've spoken about a lot, and comes out of the great University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index.
But I think part of what's going on is you get a raise, you kill yourself to get this raise, right?
We've all done it.
Like, you know, you work yourself up, you go and you ask and you make your case and you get your raise and you're like, finally, I have my raise.
And then all of a sudden all the prices already went up and you can't your raise means nothing.
You know, so I think
You know, you can't you're trying to get ahead and you're just treading water.
Also, hiring rates are very, very at like decade lows right now because people are hunkering down in their jobs.
Right.
Also if you're on a fixed income, like if you are retired and you have saved your pennies and worked really hard and you're not making a wage right now.
Um, then all of a sudden it's like, hey, wait a minute.
Like this is the you know, this is one of the big problems when inflation really takes off, even if wages keep up.
And in s you know, in some countries, like when there's a big inflation spiral, wages will rise a lot too.
The job market's hot, everybody's jumping jobs, getting raises.
Uh there's the wage price spiral.
That's when wages are going up and prices are going up.
Everything's going up together.
But if you're not making a wage or you're in like a field where you can't, you know, that's not hiring.
