He had an excellent season, and...
ironically enough he's another player i know well i drafted him in chicago um but it shows you how much um we kind of missed on the mark there we didn't sign him he was a college player out of northeastern um but another late bloomer i think you know he didn't really um have everything together in his game when he graduated from college but now look where he is he's
Finally found himself in the NHL.
He had a couple of really good years in the American League.
And then he broke through a season ago.
And now this most recent year, he was excellent in Pittsburgh.
I think his combination of puck skill, being able to supplement offense with his playmaking and passing.
He had a pretty good year making some good offensive plays in the zone, getting off the points.
He's got mobility.
He's comfortable handling the puck.
He can carry the puck.
His penalty killing was elite this year.
So we expect him to play a big role here.
So I think you're right.
We traded away a very good player in Darnell who eats up a lot of minutes.
But we added two defensemen that we think are going to be a big part of our team next year.
So I think all in all, we were able to do that plus get some cap space in the process and add a prospect.
So
I was very pleased with how the day went for us today.
