And so, yeah.
And then afterwards, the ICE agents told us to identify ourselves.
So I identified myself as a state representative.
After that, they drove away.
And so we were able to, again, keep following them to make sure that we were able to get the message out to our neighbors that there were ICE agents driving around our neighborhoods, trying to abduct people on the street, racially profiling, and doing our due diligence and our job as an elected official.
Yes, that's absolutely what happened.
Again, we were letting folks know about their rights.
So we were going door to door to businesses, letting folks know about their rights, where they're interacting with an ICE agent.
They have the right to remain silent.
They have the right to an attorney.
They have the right to not sign anything that they do not understand.
And so we were out there making sure that folks were not being wrongfully abducted and wrongfully detained.
And so they were driving around our neighborhoods, picking up landscapers, picking up construction workers.
These are hardworking Americans, folks who were just out there working and walking around.
And then they got picked up.
So our job is to make sure that we get the information out to our neighbors and making sure that they know their rights.
That's absolutely not not true.
I am a refugee who came to this country, came to the United States with my family.
We fled an authoritarian regime in Vietnam.
And I know what it's like to live in fear.
