So I think we've just now seen those prevention initiatives coming onto the agenda.

Catherine King, the Shadow Minister, said at the press club that the first thing the Reform Commission was going to do is try and address this issue of primary care reform.

One of the things that I think is really disappointing is that the MBS review, the Medicare Benefit Schedule Review Task Force on General Practice, which released its report just before Christmas, didn't actually go into detail, didn't actually present an agenda which either party could have picked up.

It was

all general directions.

The general directions were very good, but there wasn't enough detail to say where we ought to go.

So I think that's what the reform commission will have to do is just work with the industry to say what are the steps, work with consumer groups, what do we need to do to address this critical issue.
