He turned into a raconteur rather than an actor.

What's horrible about that is the way they treat Joan Sims, not as a mannequin, but as a sort of doormat, really.

She's a brilliant actress reduced to just screaming to Harry H. Corbett.

Yeah, it's a great pity.

a really good actress who was wasted particularly in in that film um the brides of dracula is well there aren't really any brides are they they're just they're just these sort of school girls and this french school teacher the hammer were odd they were very good at horror set pieces they have that there are certain scenes that are very strong

But they were not very good at linking those scenes together and they weren't very good at character development.

So you've got a series of shock moments and then sort of rambly bits to get to it.

And they kind of forget what happened to the character in one scene after the next scene.

So the most appalling things could happen to a character.

And then the next scene, that's completely forgotten.

And we're moving on to the next sort of horror set piece.
