So, yeah, I learned pretty fast exactly how to treat an interaction with a politician.
And the most effective one I don't like, I'll probably get along quite well with him, I don't like his politics, is Stephen Conroy, former communications minister, the guy who bought MBN in, essentially.
And he would not sugarcoat shit.
He'd tell you, I almost got to punch up with him, I swear, on the escalator going down from the Qantas lounge at Sydney Airport.
We were behind him and he was threatening to regulate the industry.
He was literally, he made threats in the press to basically go and forcefully acquire all of the data from our businesses so they could build the MVN cheaper.
Like literally take private data to make the government's job cheaper to build stuff to compete against us.
Mm-hmm.
and you had this hell of a blow-up on this escalator.
But he would.
He'd actually just tell you what he thought of you, and there was no sugarcoating.
So I had more respect for that.
I didn't like what he did, right?
But I at least had respect for the fact he was up front about it and just didn't hide, which is bloody rare in a politician.

He's a lot taller and looks impressive.
